Commercial Walk-in Coolers as well as Home Refrigerators consume energy by using compressors to cool air to 40 degrees.

In colder geographic locales the exterior air is  able to perform this cooling function about 4 months of each year.  A simple ducted fan to exchange cold exterior air (under 40 degrees) with interior air allows a bypass of energy-intensive compressors.

Walk-in coolers  must be regularly cooled to appropriate temperatures even in winter. Additionally, they are of course, insulated from cold exterior air as well as often surrounded by heated interior environments. Residential refrigerators may also be cooled with exterior ducted air with simple modifications in new units.  Walk-in coolers may be easily retrofit as the cost-savings are potentially quite large and the units are easily modified to accept the ducted fan(s).

Manufacturers and investors are invited to participate in making this technology a standard in GREEN energy saving application.  This cooling system is simple, saves energy dollars and easily assimilated into existing refrigeration systems.
